Our second concert of the season will take place at York Barbican on February 10th.
The concert will begin with Berlioz’ popular concert overture Les Franc- Juges.
Next up we have a performance of the Ferdinand David Concertino in Eb for trombone and orchestra and we are delighted to welcome Ian Bousfield as soloist in this beautiful and elegant work. Born in York, Ian has an influential and successful career, playing and recording internationally. Since 2012 he has devoted his time to his solo career and teaching, about which he is passionate.
Ian will also perform an arrangement of Puccini’s Nessun Dorma, followed by Variations on Blue Bells of Scotland, an arrangement by Arthur Pryor of this famous folk song.
The evening will end with Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony. This celebrated work is surely one of Beethoven’s most glorious symphonies.
Saturday February 10, 7.30 pm, York Barbican. Tickets here.
