Tickets are now on sale for the much publicised pop-up theatre to be built in York next summer.
Set in a vibrant Shakespearean Village beside Clifford’s Tower in York, Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre promises a thrilling and unique theatrical experience! The pop-up theatre will combine state-of-the-art scaffolding technology with the historic 13-sided design of a traditional Elizabethan theatre, with three covered tiers of seating and an open courtyard.
Four of William Shakespeare’s greatest plays will be performed from 25 June to 2 September 2018. York Theatre Royal’s Oliver Award-winning Artistic Director Damian Cruden, and Associate Director Juliet Forster, will be putting their stamp on Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Olivier Award-winner Lindsay Posner from the West End will direct Romeo and Juliet and Richard III.
Step back in time and experience Shakespeare as it was in his day, with plenty of breath-taking, spine-tingling, heart-stopping moments!
