Entries for the 18th annual Kirkbymoorside 10k are filling fast and the organising committee are predicting another sell-out year. At this stage entries are 25% ahead of the same time last year.
This year’s race takes place, as ever, on the May Day Sunday (6th May) and starts at the usual time of 2pm. As well as the main 10k race that takes in the local villages of Gillamoor and Fadmoor there will be the kiddies 400m dash, the children’s 1 mile and teen 4k races. Of course, prior to all the running events the Beadlam charity tractor run will trundle down the high street too.
The race weekend will be made even better with the Tour de Yorkshire passing through Kirkbymoorside on Saturday 5th May. When the tour came through two years ago the town dressed up brilliantly for the occasion and we’re hoping we can repeat that this year.
Entries this year are all on-line via the web site kirkbymoorside10k.com. The organising committee have decided the small number of paper entries no longer warrants the wasting of large quantities of paper and are sure that people will understand this.
We’re pleased to have many regular sponsors on-board once again with The Lion Inn, NSF and Kitching Walker Solicitors being the joint title sponsors. We’re grateful for the Kirkbymoorside Co-Op for once again donating all our water needs too. If any businesses are interested in sponsoring the event we would be happy to discuss opportunities with them and in the first instance they should contact Dave Pearson at email@example.com
