Kirkby Fruit Project on the radio

Chris Simmonds from Kirkby Fruit Project was interviewed by Julia Lewis for the BBC Radio York Sunday Gardening programme last Sunday, November 5.

The interview covered the Project itself and the discovery of the unique Kirkby Pippin apple, and concluded with a great plug – by Julia Lewis – for the Kirkby Christmas market.

Here is a link to the interview on BBC Radio iplayer – http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05jqhp1 – but unfortunately it won’t work if you aren’t a registered listener.  Registration is easy and is good forever, or at least until they change the system again. If you are starting from scratch, the Sunday Gardening programme runs for three hours, and Chris’s interview begins at 2 hours and 9 minutes. You can fast forward through some annoying music between the three segments.

Well done Chris, and all the volunteers at the Fruit Project, a great plug for the town.
