A huge thank you to Jean

Thank you to JeanI’d like to show my personal appreciation, and I’m sure all our regular readers will join me, in thanking Jean for keeping the Kirkby Town Blog going virtually single-handed this year.

Without her regular, varied and entertaining input it would be slim picking indeed (if it was down to me alone). With 3-500 page views a day we know we have a regular audience and certainly our regular correspondence from those who organise events know the value of ‘posting info on the blog’.

So thank you Jean – have a lovely Christmas and we all look forward to more great posts from you in 2018.

Thank you, Gareth, I’m still blushing!

May I take this opportunity to thank our regular contributors, especially the two walking groups, Ramblers and Ryedale; also KMEG and Kirkby Fruit Project from the town; and from beyond the town, Pickering WEA, Helmsley Arts Centre, Helmsley Archaeological and Historical Society, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and the EYMS bus company.

Regular readers will know that that list, and other contributions, reflect my personal interests, and I am painfully aware of large gaps in the blog’s coverage. Sport, for example, rarely gets a mention. So there is plenty of space for other regular contributors to join the team, or at least to make a habit of sending us material. Free coverage for your team, society or group; advertising your events, supporting your fundraising, reporting your successes. What’s not to like, as they say?

And finally, may I wish a happy new year to Kirkbymoorsiders one and all.

    Jean
