Unwanted furniture? Recycle it!

10 million items of furniture are thrown away in the UK every year. 3 million of these items could be easily re-used; more could be repaired. Re-using an item of furniture saves the energy associated with manufacturing a new one, which has an enormous and positive impact on reducing CO2 emissions.

The Furniture Re-use Network coordinates over 400 organisations in the UK which collect a wide range of furniture and appliances to donate to people in need.

The FRN membership consists of around 300+ re-use organisations working with social and environmental aims across the UK. They vary in size from small local charities to large social enterprises. Some are attached to housing associations, development trusts and councils for voluntary service.
