Described by The Times as “in a class of her own”, Kate Royal will be appearing at the Ryedale Festival Gala Concert to be held at Duncombe Park on Friday 13th July.
A regular visitor to all the world most famous concert halls and opera houses, Kate Royal is a soprano of immense quality – in demand all over the world – so it is with great excitement that Ryedale Festival announces that she will open the 2012 festival.
Devised and performed by Kate, “A Lesson in Love” is a story in song in four chapters, telling a story of love, marriage and betrayal. It follows her album, of the same title, released last year on EMI Classics and which she toured to great critical acclaim throughout Europe and the USA, partnered by pianist and Ryedale Festival Artistic Director Christopher Glynn.
This concert promises to be deliciously good as the talented and beautiful Kate leads the audience through her own personal choice of songs, some well-known, others less so, within the magnificent surroundings of the Saloon at Duncombe Park.
Kate will be accompanied by the festival’s Artistic Director, Christopher Glynn, on what promises to be an evening of exceptional calibre.
Ryedale Festival is delighted to announce that UBS is sponsoring this concert.
The Gala Concert begins at 8 pm. Tickets include a pre-concert complimentary glass of Champagne.
