Local businessmen Tony Everett and Angus Ashworth outline their plans for developing the currently redundent Cook's Yard in Kirkbymoorside. While Tony hopes to open a new showroom selling antique furniture Angus seeks to develop an auction room on the site. Sitting alongside the busy A170, which passes through the southern end of the town, they see both great potential for their new enterprises and for visually enhancing this gateway site to the town.
These plans are subject to planning consent being given by Ryedale District Council.
In the video Tony is keen to clarify that his existing antique businesses in the town are to remain open and that a statement, in a recent letter in the Gazette & Herald which can be viewed here, concerning the closure of his High Street shop is incorrect.

I'd like to wish Tony and Angus - together with Jane Cook - all success with their new ventures, as this development is good news for Kirkbymoorside. It should also be noted that Mark Simpson has moved into larger premises in West End, which is another key indicator that local businesses have confidence in the future. It's a great town, and the changes can only help it remain one.
