From Hovingham Village Market:
We’re celebrating our 100th Hovingham Village Market in February!
We are saying thank you by awarding every 100th visitor with Market Vouchers (value between £50 and £20) exchangeable at any market stall or the Community Café.
We’ll also have a unique celebration cake created by a stallholder collaboration of Haxby Bakehouse, The Wall@Coulton, Ryedale Cheeses, Butterflies Chocolates, Roost Coffee, YO Bakehouse, and the White Cottage Bakery.
As many of our loyal visitors and stallholders will know, our first market was held in October 2009. We have raised over £98,000 for over 50 local community groups.
The market has achieved local and national recognition; winning nine awards culminating in the prestigious Duke of York’s Community Initiative Award.
We asked Pete Stark, our Market Chairman and one of our pioneer stallholders, what makes the Hovingham Market so special?
The market champions local food, art and crafts. Local provenance is important to us and enables the market to be sustainable. We support local community groups who, through the market, can meet residents in a safe and friendly environment and raise funds. It is often a surprise to visitors to learn that our market is run entirely by volunteers.”
Join the celebrations for our 100th Market on Saturday February 3, 10.30am to 1.30pm . You could be one of our lucky winners.
